Abstract

This article is a study of Michel Laub’s O Segundo Tempo (Second Half). Based on Marcelino Rodrigues da Silva considerations, the study focuses on three recurrent images in works that have football as theme: football, family, and nation. Besides these three instances, as is characteristic of works by Laub, the problematic of memory and trauma is also considered. That being said, it is possible to regard football in accordance with Paul Ricoeur’s concept of close relations.

  • Pedro Henrique Trindade Kalil Auad, Universidade Federal de Uberlândia

    Possui graduação em Letras (2007), mestrado em Teoria da Literatura (2010) e doutorado em Teoria da Literatura e Literatura Comparada (2014) pela Faculdade de Letras da Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais. Atualmente realiza estágio de Pós-Doutorado na PGLET/UFU. Trabalha principalmente com os seguintes temas: teoria literária, teoria do cinema, teoria feminista, teatro, estruturalismo, pós-estruturalismo, Samuel Beckett e Chris Marker.
