Balzac’s work depicts human life from the perspective of various occult forces; it is the living expression of Balzac’s creative force. The aim of this article is to consider the relationship between literary construction and mysticism in the work of French novelist Honoré de Balzac (1799-1850), especially in the Philosophical Studies that make up The Human Comedy. It will explore the critical reception of his contemporaries, elements of the author’s correspondence and the works The Wild Ass’s Skin (1830), Louis Lambert (1832) and Seraphite (1833-1835), which offer the reader a privileged space for reflection on the influences that the novelist suffered and their transpositions into fictional writing.
