This article aims to analyze literary texts that address personal or familiar experiences that express vicissitudes of a migratory process. The point of departure is the hypothesis that the literature with a self-referential nature, in spite of all necessary precautions, brings about a number of items that have specific timing and operations for the preparation and organization of experience. We focused on two texts of creation that question migration-related issues departing from the first person singular perspective, even though the object of the narrative and the evolution of the displacement narrated are divergent: The book of the grandfather, by Beatriz Lopez and Últimas miradas antes de partir, by Milagros Díaz Martínez.
