Caminhadas por entre o espaço urbano na poesia de Frank O’Hara

Resumo: Este artigo tem como objetivo investigar como uma parte significativa da obra do poeta estadunidense Frank O’Hara (1926-1966) estrutura-se a partir do cruzamento entre uma sensibilidade poética e a necessidade de movimento. Figura central da “New York School”, grupo bastante ativo de artistas e pensadores na Nova York das décadas de 1950 e 1960, O’Hara imprimiu seus trabalhos com a temática do caminhar e deambular. O presente texto abordará como os poemas de O’Hara articulam as andanças do eu lírico a questões fundamentais que compõem o cotidiano do tecido urbano, como trabalho, sexualidade e consumo. Sendo assim, esse artigo pretende mostrar que a produção de Frank O’Hara, de forma criativa e original, faz parte de uma tradição que associa o fazer poético à caminhada, especialmente no que diz respeito às noções de espaço e construção de uma identidade urbana.
