Abstract: This essay discusses how speculative fiction produced by women writers has revisited contemporary Caribbean Literature. By analyzing how these writers combine traditional aspects of Caribbean literature with a dystopian and transgressive discourse, this text addresses the questionings proposed by women writers from a gender perspective, focusing on the novel Midnight Robber by the Caribbean-Canadian writer Nalo Hopkinson.
Keywords: Caribbean literature; speculative fiction; gender.
