Resumo: Este texto procura relacionar a modernidade de O rei da vela com o projeto político de seu autor, Oswald de Andrade, bem como apontar certas confluências com a prática teatral de Brecht, Piscator e Meyerhold.

Abstract: The following text attempts to establish a relationship between the modernism of Oswald de Andrade’s O rei da vela and the authour’s political project, as well as to point out some confluences with Brecht, Piscator and Meyerhold.
