Resumo: O presente ensaio analisa a obra de Andrei Tarkovski, tomando como ponto de partida as relações entre seus filmes e seus escritos teóricos. Ao mesmo tempo, discutindo o lugar que o diretor ocupa no cinema moderno, pretende-se mostrar como Tarkovski se distancia daquilo que Martin Jay chamou de “discurso anti-ocularcêntrico”.

Abstract: The present essay analyses the work of Andrei Tarkovski, focusing on the relations between his films and his theoretical writings. At the same time, by discussing the place of this director in modem cinema, we intend to show how Tarkovski keeps his distance from what Martin Jay has called “the antiocular centric discourse”.
