A redenção elegíaca de Medeia nas Heroides, de Ovídio

Dans ce texte, nous avons le but de montrer comment la caractérisation de Médée à la XIIème. épitre des Héroides d’Ovide la rend prochaine non seulement de ses “copines” au même ouvrage, mais, aussi, du caractère des jeunes hommes passionés, tel qu’on les voit au genre de l’élégie érotique romaine. De cette façon là, ce qui est rare à la littérature latine, ce personnage de “criminelle accomplie” se montre, ici, sous des couleurs même moins mauvaises que celles de Jason, l’aimé perjure, cruel et déshumain qui la trahit; au déroulement du mythe, alors, l’infanticide et l’extermination de la famille royale de Corinthe se configurent, pour Médée passionnée, comme des conséquences d’une faute à autrui.
