Les Olimpiades de 1936 à Berlin politisèrent les sports comme jamais auparavant, en reduisant les 4.069 atlètes des 49 pays participants à des pièces manipulés d’une gigantesque machine de propagande, pour l’orgueil de la triomphante Allemagne sous le régime nazi, dont les valeurs éternels ont été sublimés avec un succès extraordinaire en Olympia (1938), de Leni Riefenstahl.
