Literatura e espaço épico: o caso de O Paraíso Perdido

O presente artigo discute as questões associadas ao poema O paraíso perdido de John Milton e suas relações com as representações do espaço na tradição épica. Desenvolve-se também uma leitura contrapontística entre o espaço na tradição do poema épico clássico de Virgílio e Lucano, o espaço constituinte do império associado à tradição de Tasso e Camões e o espaço interiorizado do poema épico de Milton (“Paradise within”).
