A escola no movimento da cidade: os grupos escolares em Belo Horizonte

The goal of this article is to show part of the interesting constitution movement of the public primary education system in Belo Horizonte, focusing the initial installation period of those schools in the city, since the end of the first decade of the first decade of the XX century. Working with some kinds of documents, not so studies up until then, like reports of the supervisors and directors of the schools, the author shows part of how complex to make primary educations is, as well as identifies and analyzes the links between the school as an institution and the urban culture that involved it and, at the same time, was made in the schools context.
