Abstract

This is an evaluative review based on the article ‘The work of the school pedagogue: a study based on dialectical-critical pedagogy’. The objective is to analyse the imperative need to think, organise and materialise pedagogical praxis based on the concept of pedagogy as a science of education, attributing to pedagogical praxis the character of concrete thought. The theoretical-methodological basis is the scientific method of Karl Mark and F. Engels, the concrete, since it results from the theory of social being. The concrete is concrete because it is the synthesis of many determinations, that is, the unity of the diverse. Authors studied in the aforementioned text D. Saviani, Maria A. S. Franco, J. C Libâneo, P. Freire, Selma G. Pimenta, J. L. Severo, Umberto Pinto. Pedagogy is the science of education and it is up to it to understand and apprehend the contradictions that mark educational practice, allowing the educator to position themselves critically and direct the educational act, with a view to building the humanity of individuals, valuing systematised knowledge and the appropriation by the lower classes of historically produced knowledge. And more richly developed.
