FREIREAN PERSPECTIVE ON EXTENSION ACTIONS IN COMPUTING: A SYSTEMATIC BIBLIOGRAPHIC REVIEW (2010-2020)
Keywords:
university extension, computing, social valuesAbstract
The tripod of Brazilian universities is composed of teaching, research and extension. From the extension actions, it is possible to articulate scientific knowledge together with the needs of society and, in this way, supported by democratic values and equal rights, they are capable of promoting local social development. Understanding the social importance provided by extension actions, the following question is clarified: how are extension actions being carried out in universities? In this context, the method used to answer the question was the execution of a systematic literature review that considered the publications of the last 10 years present in the following digital databases: ACM, CEIE, IEEE, RBIE, Renote, ScienceDirect, SBIE and WIE. Twenty-five keywords, one inclusion criterion and six exclusion criteria were used. After extracting the data and critically analyzing the selected articles from a Freirean perspective, an overview was built on extension actions in the area of Computing. One of the eight items that make up this panorama brings to light, for example, that 61.54% of the extension actions address topics related to computational thinking or teaching programming. Observing the general panorama found, it is possible to conclude that the extension actions presented, for example, a hegemony of study topics, specific focus on a certain audience, low student protagonism, among other issues.
