Abstract

In line with the continuity of volume 9 (number 3, 2024) of FuLiA/UFMG, titled "Olympic Perspectives: The Games in Perspective Through the Humanities," we are publishing this new dossier dedicated to the studies of Olympism, once again focusing on its interaction with themes from the humanities, particularly in relation to media, journalism, and communication. We are especially promoting studies in the context of Lusophony, with an emphasis on the Luso-Brazilian relationship. We note that the 2024 Paris Olympic Games are taking place in a year that commemorates the centenary of the 1924 Olympics, which had a significant impact on international press, contributing decisively, for example, to the creation of the first daily sports newspaper in Portugal, the Diário de Sport, in that same year.
