The sound of the environments an ethnography of young football players

Abstract

This article tries to consider some aspects that are not commonly seen when thinking about and analysing football from an anthropological point of view. In this case, the research focused on the scenario of the basic categories (notably the sub-15, sub-17 and sub-20 categories) and here I present part of some influences that were found from the ethnography. The learning that is related to playing soccer often escapes the metrics, measurements, squaring and rationalizations that those involved advocate. I speak, occasionally, of the sound, or of the sounds produced in the environment of football of young players and how it is used as a tool for understanding a particular universe, a process of understanding and conception that is more sensitive and subjective than one normally imagines.
