Lionel Messi, „The last dance“! The construction of heroic narratives in the live ticker

Abstract
In the following article, I would like to analyse the 2022 World Cup final between France and Argentina from a narratological and social-theoretical perspective on two live tickers. The following parameters will be analysed: 1) intermediality (images, hypertexts), 2) narrative style, and 3) emotionality. According to the thesis, the two tickers each present different narrative styles focussing on the superstar Lionel Messi. A multi-perspective heroic story (globoesporte) and a post-heroic, more linear coverage of the event (kicker.de).
