Negociações de sentido sobre os imperativos da masculinidade hegemônica na NFL discursos da virilidade no consumo midiático do esporte

Resumo

Posto que a cobertura midiática do futebol americano é historicamente articulada pelos imperativos da masculinidade hegemônica, o objetivo do artigo é analisar algumas convocações midiáticas para o consumo do esporte alicerçadas em discursos de inclusão de outras performatividades de gênero, a partir do exame dos processos interdiscursivos que legitimam essas produções. Iremos investigar como novos agenciamentos de gênero dialogam com a hipermasculinidade em produções da última década, a partir do cruzamento de discursos circulantes e suas formas próprias de negociação de sentidos. Para análise, escolhemos o comercial para a divulgação do Super Bowl LII chamado “Touchdown Celebrations to Come” e as representações midiáticas de jogadores que publicamente afirmam que possuem interesses, estilos de vida ou hobbies não vinculados à masculinidade hegemônica no esporte.

Doutora em Ciências da Comunicação pela Escola de Comunicações e Artes da Universidade de São Paulo. Professora titular do Programa de Pós-graduação em Comunicação e Práticas do Consumo da Escola Superior de Propaganda e Marketing (PPGCOM-ESPM). Bolsista em Produtividade Pesquisa do CNPq.
