Twins Eva Mozes and Miriam, born in Portz, Romania, lost their childhood because they were jewish: at the age of 10, in May 1944, they and their family arrived in Auschwitz, where the girls were victms of human experiments carried out by Dr. Josef Mengele, until January 1945, when the camp was liberated. Parents and sisters died. The study will be based on reflections on the memory and testimony of Halbwachs and Seligmann-Silva, on the concept of childhood and its modifications over time, and the rupture of this moment of affection and child protection at the time of Nazi persecution of the Jews.
