Judaísmo e cifração lexical da guerra em A cidade sitiada, de Clarice Lispector

Abstract

This work intends to investigate the theme of Judaism and war using lexical ciphering, with the presence of hyperbata that is created by the association of ideas present in the work A Cidade Sitiada, by Clarice Lispector, denoting greater attention to chapter six entitled “Sketch of a city” in which Lispector subliminally describes the context of the Second World War by composing the state of the wounded and the space that housed them for certain medical care. It is worth remembering that the author helped by typing letters sent to the families of Brazilian soldiers at the Social Health Section in Naples, Italy during this war period. Clarice Lispector was Jewish and even though she did not manifest this condition in a blatant way in her work and did not even consider herself a writer of that lineage, on the contrary, she emphasized that she was a Brazilian author, however, she intrinsically constructs in her narrative a degrading testimonial reality that is also present, particularly, in the Literature of the Shoah, that is, symbolized by the catastrophe and destruction of things and human life, as well as such relationships evoke an analytical discourse of self-questioning and self-knowledge with a view to (re)knowing within man and society the potential creative and visceral of traditional myths, of intern rites of transformation of personal and social life, in short, they dialogue with the liquidating complexity of the contemporary world. To this end, the following authors are used: Antonio Candido (1989), Berta Waldman (2011), Seligman-Silva (2010), Ruth Klüger (2005), and others.
