Dom Carlos de Lisboa is a novel written in Hebrew, which describes the lifestyle of the Portuguese New Christians who lived 400 years ago. Through Admiral Dom Carlos Carneiro, the author Chaim Eliav (1956-2020) discovers the movement of Conversos that acted clandestinely under the command of Manuel Dias Soeiro, aliás Menashe Ben Israel (1604-1657), one of the most admired rabbis of the Spanish-Portuguese community of Amsterdam.
