Abstract

In 1963, Ugo Sorrentino, then an engineering student at the University of Rome, learned that Holocaust survivor Primo Levi would be giving a series of lectures in the city on the occasion of the upcoming release of his book The Truce. Without much knowledge of the subject of the Holocaust until then, Ugo attended two of Levi's lectures and was enchanted by the accounts of one of the best-known survivors who, despite everything he went through, did not carry hatred within him.
