Teaching urban green heritage to university students through the construction of phytogeographic paths

Abstract

Green spaces and wooded alignment constitute the green infrastructure of cities. The objective of the work is to make a proposal on the teaching of green tree heritage through phytogeographic paths in the city of Bahía Blanca (Argentina). It is intended for university students of the Faculty and Degree in Geography. It seeks to promote the ability to analyze the tree object to approach it from a visual practice. For this, a methodology was applied that consists on a reflexive framework that demonstrates what is taught, the identification and interpretation of the characteristics of the trees representing other biomes and the proper elaboration of the phytogeographic paths based on a defined criterion. In this way, students could develop a virtual practice, during the pandemic period, that will allow them to redefine everyday space and that will become the starting point to study plant formations on a local scale.
