Abstract

This article aims to reflect on a teaching practice in Civil Engineering, which seeks the independence and critical thinking of undergraduate students. Strategies for the teaching of Civil Engineering and questionings about the teaching practice in terms of academic haughtiness will be proposed throughout the work. This article is justified by contributing to the research on Engineering teaching and about the insertion of practices focused on sustainability, which has stood out in the last decades and has made available new tools to understand better the contemporaneity, as well as the need for educational measures that contemplate it. Furthermore, this study innovates in what concerns the application of Communicative Approach theory in Civil Engineering teaching.

Alaor Valério Filho, Universidade Federal do Pampa (UNIPAMPA), Alegrete, RS, Brasil.

Mestrando em Engenharia, área de Ciência de Materiais, na UNIPAMPA. Graduado em Engenharia Civil pela URCAMP (2017). Fez parte do projeto de pesquisa “Substituição sustentável na mistura de concreto”. Entre as áreas de interesse, pode-se citar: sustentabilidade, materiais e gerenciamento de obras.

Ânderson Martins Pereira, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), Porto Alegre, RS, Brasil.

Doutorando em Estudos Literários, na Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS). Mestre em Letras pela Universidade Federal de Pelotas (UFPel), período no qual foi bolsista CAPES (2017). Licenciado em Letras-Português/Inglês pela Unipampa (2012) e especializado em Linguagem e Docência (2014) pela mesma instituição.

Carlos Alfredo Barcellos Bellinaso, Universidade da Região da Campanha (URCAMP), Bagé, RS, Brasil.

Graduado em Engenharia Civil pela Universidade Católica de Pelotas (1992) e em Matemática pela UFPel (2002). Especializado em Matemática pela URCAMP (2004). Professor adjunto da URCAMP desde fevereiro de 2002.

Daniela Giffoni Marques, Universidade da Região da Campanha (URCAMP), Bagé, RS, Brasil.

Doutora em Agronomia (Produção Vegetal) pela Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho (2003), mestra em Agronomia pela Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (1999) e graduada em Agronomia pela URCAMP (1995). Atualmente é professora e responsável pelos Cursos de Pós-Graduação da URCAMP.
