In Brazil, there is a lack of statistics on the prevalence of cancer, making it difficult to see its effects on the population. This study analyzed the kinds of tumors in patients in the oncology and radioisotope center of Vale do Aço, in Ipatinga, state of Minas Gerais, correlating with the mean age of the patients. The results show the greatest prevalence of breast, prostate and uterus tumors, and a wide variation in patients' ages. Prostate tumors are typical of elderly patients, contrasting with breast cancer, which affected women as young as 28 years old.Downloads
