The use of Workshops for adolescents as an educational strategy on the issue of sexuality

Abstract

This study intends to report the Workshop experience with female adolescents on the issue of sexuality. The subjects lived in Acaba Mundo Village in Belo Horizonte. The workshop proved to be a good opportunity to experience creativity and freedom of expression, not only resulting in the adolescents' intense participation but also triggering new suggestions for discussion such as: sexual initiation, feminine identity and future plans. It was also clear that discussing, in a playful way issues related to sexuality, opened more conscious, respectful and sympathetic possibilities of positioning towards life among the participants, making them better prepared for adult life.
