Integration of the Theories of Human Caring and Interpersonal Relations in School Nursing: A Reflective Study

his study aims to reflect on the role of school nursing through the integration of the Theory of Human Caring and the Theory of Interpersonal Relations. It is a theoretical-reflective essay that discusses, through thematic axes, the integration of elements from Watson's and Peplau's theories into school nursing practice. The articulation between the Caritas Processes and the phases of the interpersonal relationship described by Peplau offers a theoretical framework for school nursing care. This integration enables the development of therapeutic bonds, active listening, promotion of adolescents' autonomy, and the construction of educational interventions with an integrative approach. The incorporation of Watson’s and Peplau’s theories into school nursing allows for the improvement of student care, strengthens the nurse's role, and contributes to the promotion of adolescents’ comprehensive health in the educational context.
