Abstract

This is a descriptive and exploratory study, carried out at the training center in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) of the SOMITI, in Belo Horizonte, state of Minas Gerais, Brazil, with the objective of drawing the professional profile of the elective ACLS student. This course prepares health care providers to manage adult cardiac arrest with cardiopulmonary resuscitation and other critical conditions. The results show that most of them are physicians, general practitioners, with 5 years or less of graduation, and work in critical care.
