The speed of the changes, competition and technological advance demand new decision-making processes, through work-teams in which trust, communication, finding the "right" people and developing a common objective are essential."Care-giving" transcends its etymological sense and takes on a meaning of holistic care. This study is a review of the literature which describes the characteristics of team work and new approaches to nursing work.
