Abstract

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is driving a recent industrial revolution, transforming tasks from manual to those requiring intelligence. As we enter an enthusiastic phase about the benefits of AI, this is propelled by affordable access to processing and memory, emerging paradigms like deep neural networks, and vast available data. However, alongside the enthusiasm, legitimate concerns arise. Perspectives on impact vary, including the role of digital platforms, labor market transformation, and business digitization. Ethics in AI has become an unavoidable necessity, not merely an intellectual debate, addressing shared autonomy, privacy, cybersecurity, and socio-economic impacts. In the face of these challenges, collaboration across fields, governments, and organizations is crucial to establish robust ethical foundations and ensure that AI benefits humanity fairly.
