In this essay, we are problematizing how people are used to consider Brazil as a continent and Africa as a country. Pointing this target, we want to find out in African Contempo-rary Art elements which could be identified or differentiated if compared with our way to conceive Life. Concepts as ideology, identity, slavery and racism are concerned, in a search of cases of Contemporary Art where identities and differences between Brazil and Africa can be observed.
