Abstract

Children’s books generally anticipate what books in the future will be. What is the most interesting in terms of editorials in regard of materials, shapes, special cut-outs and finishings may be found in children books. What elements could distinguish an artist book made for children from common children’s books? Is it possible to draw this distinction? This text highlights some ordinary subjects in such pieces that are also present in artists’ books: coloring books, the alphabet, fantastic stories, games and child’s play. The capacity to imagine and enchant oneself in face of a work of art may be awaken through the contact with works of Bruno Munari, Remy Charlip and Claude Closky, among others.
