Diversas obras de Joseph Kosuth têm como ponto de partida extratos de texto do filósofo Ludwig Wittgenstein. Particularmente obras que tratam de questões de cor. Entre os aforismos de Wittgenstein e as obras de Kosuth que os materializam, opera-se uma intermidialidade que altera e amplia os conceitos reciprocamente abordados.
