História e historiografia da revolução científica: um olhar a partir de uma perspectiva historiográfica dos portugueses

Resumo

Este artigo tematiza a historiografia das ciências dos portugueses sobre a revolução científica e como ocorreu esse significativo “acontecimento histórico”, segundo sua perspectiva. Seu escopo é compartilhar algumas reflexões sobre o lugar de Pedro Nunes (Alcácer do Sal, 1502 – Coimbra, 1578), cosmógrafo do rei de Portugal D. João III (1502- 1557), no processo histórico de emergência da ciência dos modernos. Nele se fará apontamentos sobre a trajetória da historiografia da revolução científica, sobre uma recente trajetória ibérica de historiografia das ciências e sobre a trajetória da historiografia das ciências portuguesa. Também se enveredará por uma tácita perspectiva portuguesa da revolução científica e da emergência da ciência dos modernos, bem como por algumas de suas fragilidades historiográficas. Por fim, se documentará uma possível aproximação entre Pedro Nunes (Alcácer do Sal, 1502 – Coimbra, 1578) e Galileu Galilei (1564-1642).

ABSTRACT: This article thematizes the history and the historiography of science of the Portuguese about the scientific revolution. Your goal is to share some reflections about the place of Pedro Nunes ( Alcacer do Sal, 1502 - Coimbra , 1578 ), cosmographer of the King of Portugal John III ( 1502-1557 ), in the historical process of modern science. It will be notes on the historiography of the scientific revolution, on a recent iberian historiography of science and on the portuguese historiography of science. Also cast a look at tacit Portuguese perspective of the scientific revolution and the emergence of modern science, and some of his historiographical weaknesses. Finally, we will document a possible approximation between Pedro Nunes ( Alcacer do Sal, 1502 - Coimbra , 1578 ) and Galileo Galilei (1564-1642 ).
