Abstract

This article aims to develop questions about the subjective production of women at the Military Police of Paraná (PMPR). We will start from the analysis of six interviews with police officers operating in a Battalion of the Military Police of Paraná (BPM) carried out between the years 2018 and 2019. Their narratives were analyzed from the understanding of statements, according to theoretical concepts developed by Michel Foucault (device, discipline and subjectivity), as well as using the notion of performativity proposed by Butler. We understand that military police bodies can be produced through the uniform device, metaphorically speaking, which involves issues such as discipline and hierarchy. Taking as a reference the female bodies in the Military Police, we will emphasize that there is still a gender binarism that permeates this institution.
