Abstract

This paper aims to demonstrate the considerations of the Hungarian philosopher Gÿorgy Luckács, mainly from his work Ontology of Social Being, about the teleological position of labour, from which the ontological genesis of the is-ought of the end occurs. It also seeks to demonstrate the social character of values and their importance in the development of human generativity. In this articulation, the fundamental role of teleological positions in the social life of men is highlighted. These occur both in labour, the so-called primary teleologies, and in the social complexes that derive from it, the so-called secondary teleologies. For Luckács, it is on the basis of these teleological positions that the is-ought of the end is established, which in turn is guided by values, both of which are constitutive parts of the social life of men and are therefore equally historical and social.
