Duas hidrelétricas
controle da natureza, imaginação poética e animismo em Nuno Ramos e Maria José Silveira
Keywords:

The article proposes the analysis of two texts that thematize the construction of hydroelectric plants: “Canhota, bagunça, hidrelétricas”, which is part of the book Ó, by Nuno Ramos, published in 2008, and the novel Maria Altamira, by Maria José Silveira, of 2020. In the case of Ramos' text, we seek to clarify the dense reflection that the author elaborates around the desire to control nature, taking the construction of hydroelectric dams as an example, and proposing other alternatives in relation to the environment from the creativity of the poetic imagination; in the case of Maria José Silveira’s novel, the concrete example of the construction of the Belo Monte plant on the Xingu River is approached, seeking to highlight the dramas experienced by the characters (especially indigenous and riverine people), who were expelled from their places of origin, as well as investigating the animist conception of the world as another, more respectful way of relating to nature.
