This essay presents an embedded reading of two different texts and two sorts of medias: a literary one – Roberto Bolaño’s novel 2666, and a film – Ari Folman’s Waltz with Bashir, which main subject is the language of violence and crime. They both deal with regions of tension and intense conflict: the border between Mexico and the US and the Middle East.
