The proposed article presents some considerations on the study of the song “Funeral de um lavrador”, one of the poems set to music by Chico Buarque for the staging of Morte e vida severina. The composition of the song emphasizes the dialogue established with the scenic poetics and with the poetic project of João Cabral de Melo Neto.
