This essay discusses the process of the rewriting of history from the margins, as a process that enables the emergence of voices often silenced. Focusing on the novel The God of Small Things by Arundathi Roy, this text examines, from a gender perspective, the movements of disorder depicted, through the body and writing, as an attempt to question and destabilize totalitarian discourses.
