We will analyze the short story “Cara de boneca”, from the book Jeito de matar lagartas (2015), by the writer Antonio Carlos Viana. As one of the characters is compared to a doll, hence the title of the narrative, it will be around this image that the present work will be constituted. The doll is a toy and a double par excellence, double of a human being. However, in the story in question, there is a reversal, because it is a human being who becomes a doll. This process which Lilá goes true, the character to which we refer, facilitates its use and its subsequent discarding. After presenting some definitions of doll, we will discuss the fixation of Lilá as a doll from the concept of the faciality of Deleuze and Guattari. And finally, we will discuss the relation between doll, playtime, game and writing using the thought of Agamben and Bataille.
