The present paper aims to discuss the construction of masculinities in Of Mice and Men (1937) by John Steinbeck, eliciting the elements that are in the formation of masculinities in North-American rancher space and taking as its main course of analysis the characters Lennie and George. For such purpose, this paper is based on the contributions of Connell and Messerschmidt (2013), Connell (2005), Reeser (2010) and Laing (1969). This paper is justified to contribute with the studies about masculinity, which have stood out in recent decades and have made available new tools for dealing with men exposition and imposition.
