Abstract

This article presents some considerations about the translation into Italian of the collection of short stories As máscaras do destino, a narrative work by the Portuguese author Florbela Espanca (1894-1930), published posthumously in 1931. Dialoguing with both the theory and the practice of translation feminist, as well as the international critical fortune of the author’s work, the article illustrates the general strategy that guided translation, also justifying some specific choices, in order to reflect on the ethical dimension of translation in a feminist perspective. The ultimate objective of this analysis is to contribute to the theoretical reflection and to the practice of feminist translation in the field of Portuguese language literatures.
