Uma "tradução" livre de Sófocles: J. Anouilh, Antigone

Resumo: Ao reescrever o tema de Antígona, Anouilh introduziu novidades em obediência a dois objectivos primordiais: adoptar uma estratégia dramática capaz de ultrapassar as barreiras do tempo e do espaço; e garantir a compreensão de um auditório francês do século XX (1943) perante um original grego do séc. V a. C. (c. 441 a. C.). Do resultado fala a popularidade que a nova produção conseguiu, transformando- se numa etapa intermédia entre Sófocles e outras criações modernas.

Abstract: On writing about Antigone, Anouilh introduced several innovations following two main purposes: to use a dramatic strategy able to reduce spacial and temporal distance from his model; and to obtain the comprehension of a 20th century French audience in relation to a fifth century Greek original. His creation became very popular and functioned as a step between Sophocles and other modern recreations.
