Este trabalho apresenta o relato de uma experiência exploratória de uso da Inteligência Artificial, mais especificamente dos Large Language Models – ou Modelos de linguagem de grande escala – para realizar traduções entre o par linguístico inglês/português numa disciplina de prática de tradução em nível de graduação. Foram propostas tarefas diferentes a cada semana, explorando diversos gêneros textuais e interagindo com esses modelos, para conhecer melhor suas capacidades e limitações. Paralelamente à disciplina de graduação, foi ministrada também uma disciplina de pós-graduação, na qual se realizou uma ampla discussão sobre as novas tecnologias e suas consequências para os Estudos da Tradução. Os cursos paralelos se influenciaram mutuamente e dialogaram em grande medida, gerando resultados inusitados e surpreendentes, que são aqui partilhados com o intuito de incrementar a discussão sobre este momento crucial em que o avanço tecnológico nos convoca a moldar nossas práticas didáticas e profissionais na área da tradução.
