Amos Tutuola (1920-1997) foi um escritor nigeriano pioneiro que revolucionou a literatura africana ao escrever em inglês com estrutura narrativa enraizada na tradição oral iorubá. Este artigo investiga o conceito de “ente-instrumento” em suas obras The Palm-Wine Drinkard (1952) e My Life in the Bush of Ghosts (1954), demonstrando como instrumentos musicais emergem como sujeitos dotados de agência e força vital. A análise revela que elementos musicais se tornam entidades vivas com poder transformador, ecoando epistemologias africanas. O trabalho estabelece conexões entre conto popular africano e música tradicional, propondo a “complementaridade” como alternativa à dicotomia sujeito-objeto ocidental, o que configura um continuum estético sônico comunitário.
