The article analyze the configuration of models of childhood and from a perspective of gender. Their sources are plus of twohundred schoolbooks used to primary schools in Argentine, since the first decades of twenty century until the last years of that century. From to the final of the years 60 the schoolbooks have transformations in the esthetics and the symbols what represent of the childhoods. Finally, the article claims that if the transformations are at association to the absence of the reading about rites of passage, toward the adult man, attribute exclusively to the masculine childhood.
