TEACHING PRATICE IN THE TEACHER’S VOICE: ECHOES OF THE TEACHING TRAINING AND TEACHING CONTEXT
Keywords:
Science teaching, Primary School, Teacher training, Teachers’ working conditions.Abstract
Training teaching and working conditions are considered by authors as influencers of the teacher’s work. To understand how teachers view these aspects in science education in Elementary School, this research interviewed teachers of Londrina district (Paraná, Brazil), between the years 2010-2011. This is a local study, making it possible to understand aspects of the reality of this context and moment. After transcribing the interviews, we made an immersion in its content, making a deeper reading of the responses. From the immersion, categories were generated, which were quantified and organized in graphs and tables that would allow the analysis. Its data can contribute to understand that moment and that context. Teachers valorized supervised internship contributions and the exercise of the profession in their worn education; they appoint different realities related to work load and number of students; and also, they are worried with other areas of knowledge, despite they know the huge interest of children in natural sciences. Finally, both the valorization of a teacher training that contributes to teachers’ practice, and better working conditions for teaching are defended.
