The purpose of this paper is to present a panorama, in a historical, social and political perspective, of the music scholarization process in Brazil, since the end of the XIX century up to nowadays, bringing to light conceptions, values and creeds that have leading the pedagogical practice of public school educators through the time. It will be also analyzed the conceptions and contradictions presented in the Brazil Educational Legislation, and its influence in the Music Educator formation and profile.
