Authority control of people's names A proposal based on the analysis of the Digital Library of the Federal Public Ministry

Abstract
Qualitative, descriptive-exploratory and applied research. It presents the summary of a master's research in Knowledge Management and Organization, which addresses the authority control of names of people, discussing its impact on the representation, organization and retrieval of information. The scope of the study is the authority control of the names of people in the Digital Library of the Federal Public Ministry (BDMPF). The general objective is to propose a model of authority control of names of people, based on the analysis of the BDMPF, which provides consistency to the representation of these names and contributes to the organization and retrieval of information. It concludes that standardization is a premise of authority control and a requirement for improving the level of consistency of term descriptions.
