CALL FOR PAPERS: Approaches to Classical Reception
The proposal of the dossier no. 21 of Nuntius Antiquus journal follows the trend – that is not new, but that is always renewed – of dissemination of research in Classical Studies regarding the reception of Greek and Latin texts and authors throughout several eras, since the appearance of their works. The event that took place at FALE/UFMG, the International Seminar "Approaches to Classical Reception", was the main motivator for the formulation of the dossier. The guest professors, Stephen Hinds (Professor Emeritus of Classical Letters at the University of Washington, Seattle) and Catherine Connors (Coordinator of the Undergraduate Program of the Department of Classics at the University of Washington), gave lectures on the subject between September 9 and 16, 2024. Thus, we call upon literature researchers and/or classicists to present article proposals, for the issue 2025/2 (v. 21, n. 2) of the Journal, that address Greek and Roman antiquity as well as the adaptation and transformation of classical texts in interaction with readers in different contexts.
Organizers: Heloísa Penna, Matheus Trevizam e Sandra Bianchet
Deadline for submission of proposals: April 23, 2025
